Position Summary: The Counter Sales Associate is responsible for assisting rental customers in a polite, friendly, and professional manner whether in person or on the phone. You will ask the customer questions to determine their rental needs, prepare forms and contracts, and explain fees/pricing. This position is public-facing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists customers courteously in person and via phone
- Assesses rental requirements and suggests suitable equipment
- Prepares rental forms and contracts accurately
- Explains rental charges and equipment details comprehensively
- Handles phone orders and inquiries
- Completes rental transactions on rental software, including checking equipment rates and availability, creating rental quotes, reserving equipment, and opening/closing rental contracts
- Emails quotes/reservations/contracts to customers
- Resolves customer issues promptly
- Cleans showroom floor and equipment, and arranges showroom displays as directed by the Counter Sales Supervisor
- Coordinates equipment delivery, loading, and unloading
- Assists in creating rental quotes and reservations
- Reports safety violations to supervisor
- Upholds company safety standards and ensures appropriate procedures are followed
- Performs other duties as requested
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent GED preferred but not required
- 0-3 years of experience in customer service or sales
- Customer service aptitude
- Strong telephone skills
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to lift/move approximately 50-70 lbs
- Sitting and periods of time spent at a computer
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday, with possible weekend hours (Saturday – 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
